"CHARGE! Guys, you're supposed to charge with me, why aren't ... GLURK!" - Last Words of a Famous Soldier

[edit] Description

Clad in strong plate mail and wielding the sharpest, pointiest weapons, Soldiers can usually be found at the centre of any battle.

The Soldier is the master of directing the flow of combat. She can slow or even stop enemies in their tracks, inspire courage in her allies, and when the going really gets tough, she'll be the one to take that particularly hard club swing to the face for her team.

It's all in a day's work to a Soldier. If you're ready to take command and lead your friends to victory, then sign up today!

[edit] Soldier Abilities

Disbelief: Increases your resistance to magic, not that it exists, but it's better to be safe than sorry.

Tackle: Reduces your own movement speed and also that of your target.

Bind Wounds: Who needs healers anyway?

[edit] Notable NPCs

Here are some of the Soldier characters that you may find waving sharp pointy things around.

Captain McNulty - The captain of the Shoal guard is used to handling tough situations, but now he's handling one of the toughest: listening to a bunch of whiny townsfolk. He hears their complaints and organises the guards accordingly. He's not averse to outsourcing the work to adventurers either.

[edit] A Soldier's Tale

"I staggered back into Shoal with the rest of my company and just wanted to get some sleep. The simple impit infestation in the Wandering Plains turned out to be not so simple. Three days of hard fighting and I was tired.

Unfortunately, the inn I got a room at was haunted and I spent the better part of the night dueling pirate ghosts. After that I wandered on down to the docks to look at the lake and was immediately attacked by a swarm of flying fish. By the time I finished holding off the flying fish invasion, the sun came up and it was time to report for duty. I'll get some sleep when we march."
